King & Spalding Lawyers Successfully Defended a Qui Tam Case Involving an Important Diabetes Medication

King & Spalding defended a Qui Tam case related to the development and sale of a well-known drug designed for the treatment of diabetes filed against a major pharmaceutical manufacturer.  The claims involved allegations of a failure to disclose various risks related to the development of bladder cancer that the plaintiff asserted were not properly disclosed during the development and approval stages.  The claims were brought under the Federal False Claims Act and we successfully obtained a dismissal of the case after removing it to federal court.
