King & Spalding Again Earns Top Score in HRC Report on LGBTQ+ Workplace Equality

WASHINGTON, Jan. 28, 2022— King & Spalding has once again earned a top score in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual Corporate Equality Index, the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. This is the 10th consecutive year the firm has achieved a perfect score in the index.

The CEI is a national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality. A top score earns King & Spalding the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s designation as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality.

“When the Human Rights Campaign Foundation created the Corporate Equality Index 20 years ago, we dreamed that LGBTQ+ workers—from the factory floor to corporate headquarters, in big cities and small towns—could have access to the policies and benefits needed to thrive and live life authentically. We are proud that the Corporate Equality Index paved the way to that reality for countless LGBTQ+ workers in America and abroad,” said Jay Brown, Human Rights Campaign Senior Vice President of Programs, Research and Training.

“But there is still more to do, which is why we are raising the bar yet again and ensuring our ‘Best Places to Work’ label continues to be the gold standard. Evolving the CEI’s criteria to mirror society is imperative to create more equitable workplaces and a better tomorrow for LGBTQ+ workers everywhere.”

King & Spalding fosters and maintains an environment where every employee is free to be their authentic selves. The firm also encourages discussions and collaborations on efforts to promote LGBTQ equality including ongoing support for various LGBTQ-related community organizations.
