International Bar Association Appoints Agnès Bizard Co-Chair of its Under-40 Arbitration Subcommittee


LONDON, Jan. 14, 2022 — The International Bar Association’s arbitration committee has appointed King & Spalding counsel Agnès Bizard as co-chair of its under-40 arbitration subcommittee, the IBA Arb 40.

As a member of the firm’s Trial and Global Disputes practice, Bizard works in the Paris office and focuses on investment, commercial and construction disputes, especially in the sectors of infrastructure, manufacturing and energy. She has participated in numerous arbitral proceedings conducted under the ICSID, ICC, AFA and CCJA arbitration rules. She has substantial experience in multiple jurisdictions and in Africa particularly. Her work includes counseling States, investors or industrials on conflicts regarding mining and port concession agreements, expropriation claims, tax stabilization agreements and gas pricing disputes.

The IBA Arbitration Committee focuses on laws, practice and procedures relating to the arbitration of transnational disputes. The IBA Arb 40 was established for younger arbitrators aged 40 or below who focus on thought leadership for the next generation of arbitration practitioners.
