WASHINGTON, June 26, 2019 — The George Washington Law Alumni Association has honored Washington, D.C.-based partner Bobby Burchfield with the Jacob Burns Award for extraordinary service. He received the award on June 8 at a dinner in D.C.
Burchfield has practiced in the area of corporate litigation for over 35 years. He specializes in complex trials and appeals for major corporations, particularly in C-suite level antitrust, securities and contract disputes. As a partner in the firm’s Contracts and Business Torts and Appellate, Constitutional and Administrative Law practices, Burchfield tries cases and argues appeals throughout the country, including before the Supreme Court of the United States, for corporate clients and political entities in a broad range of high-stakes disputes.
The George Washington Law Alumni Association established the Jacob Burns Awards for Extraordinary Service to The George Washington University Law School to honor Dr. Jacob Burns, a 1924 graduate of the law school, noted scholar, leader of enterprise, artist, philanthropist, and humanitarian. The award honors an individual who has actively assisted the law school in its academic and civic mission.
