ATLANTA, June 27, 2017 — Former King & Spalding lawyer Michele J. Kim was sworn in as a United States bankruptcy judge on June 23 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Georgia. Judge Kim will now preside over bankruptcy matters in the Brunswick division of the Southern District. During her tenure at King & Spalding, she represented clients in a broad range of commercial restructuring, bankruptcy and real estate transactions.

Prior to joining the firm, Kim served as law clerk to the Honorable Anthony A. Alaimo, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Georgia and the Honorable John S. Dalis, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Georgia. Kim is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she earned a B.B.A. in international business as well as her law degree.
