ATLANTA, June 30, 2017 — The Daily Report has honored King & Spalding with a Litigation Department of the Year award and has named Data, Privacy & Security partner Phyllis Sumner a Distinguished Leader.
“King & Spalding's 2016 litigation successes included products liability cases, general commercial disputes, environmental litigation and multistate consumer data privacy class actions,” including some of clients’ “most important business cases in both the district court and the appellate court level,” the Daily Report noted in an article this week.
In a profile of Sumner, the publication pointed out that she had negotiated settlements of putative consumer class actions against a client stemming from one of the most prominent data breaches in history and that settlement was “a model for future consumer data breach settlements.” Earlier this year, the Daily Report named Corporate partner Justin King to its list of lawyers On the Rise.
