Ben Emmerson QC Receives CBE for International Law Service


LONDON, Nov. 10, 2021 — King & Spalding Trial & Global Disputes partner Ben Emmerson QC was honoured with a CBE for his services to international law in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. He was presented with the award by His Royal Highness Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge.

Emmerson, a specialist leading counsel in public international law and international corporate risk management, serves as Global Head of Public International Law in the firm’s London office. He is an accomplished courtroom advocate with 35 years’ experience representing sovereign States, as well as individual and corporate clients before international courts and tribunals, including more than 20 cases in the UK Supreme Court and its predecessor the House of Lords, and more than 30 cases at the European Court of Human Rights.

The Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) is the highest ranking Order of the British Empire and is given to recognize people's amazing achievements and service to the country.
