White House COVID-19 Response Team Announces Successful Administration of 200 Million Shots in 100 Days

During the White House COVID-19 Response Team press briefing on April 23, 2021, Jeff Zients, White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, announced that 200 million shots have been delivered in less than 100 days. More than 52 percent of adults in the United States have at least one shot, resulting in an 80 percent reduction in deaths and 70 percent reduction on hospitalization among seniors.

During the next phase of the vaccination program, the administration plans to focus on four key areas. First, the administration will continue to focus on administering vaccinations at a high output rate. Second, the administration will continue to increase accessibility. Third, the administration will focus on enhancing vaccine confidence and educating the public about vaccinations, which are now available across the nation to everyone 16 and older free of cost. Fourth, the administration will continue to focus on enhancing health equity.
