Federal and state officials reported on Tuesday that shipments of vaccines from the federal government were delayed because of deteriorating weather conditions. Mike Ricci, spokesman for Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, said that vaccine shipments from Pfizer and Moderna were delayed by winter storms. Mckesson, a distributor of medical products, said it would reschedule shipments once weather conditions improve. Ricci indicated that delays caused by the winter storm “will have a significant impact [on] our providers.” We anticipate that other states may experience similar delays as winter storms continue to strike.
