South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) reported that North Korea launched a cyberattack against Pfizer to obtain vital information on COVID-19 vaccines. Health experts have indicated that North Korea’s hacking attempts may be part of a broader scheme to peddle stolen data. In recent months, intelligence officials have noticed an increase in cyberattacks targeting vaccine manufacturers and scientists. In November, Microsoft accused Russian and North Korean hackers of attempting to steal data from vaccine researchers and manufacturers.
