Johnson & Johnson to Distribute 20 Million Vaccine Doses Throughout March

The Biden administration announced that vaccine distribution centers could receive as many as 3.9 million doses of the new Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine by Tuesday.  The administration’s rollout plan calls for new doses to be distributed to states proportionally to their population.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine offers “several unique benefits” that make it easier to store and administer the vaccine. Specifically, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is a single dose vaccine that does not require freezer capacity. Rochelle P. Walensky, director of the CDC, reiterated that it is important to have access to various types of vaccines, “especially ones with different dosing recommendations and storage and handling requirements.”

White House officials said that Johnson & Johnson plans to ship a total of 20 million doses by the end of March. Click here to see more details.
