IRS Announces Employer Tax Credit for COVID-19 Vaccination Paid Time Off

Small and midsize employers can claim a refundable tax credit for leave taken by employees to receive or recover from COVID-19 vaccinations between April 1, 2021 and September 30, 2021. The American Rescue Plan allows eligible employers to claim refundable tax credits to reimburse them for the cost of providing paid sick and family leave to their employees due to COVID-19, including leave taken for vaccinations.

Eligible employers must have fewer than 500 employees. Self-employed individuals are eligible for similar credits.
