CDC Publishes Demographic Data for the First Month of the Vaccine Rollout

On February 5, 2021, the CDC published two reports with additional data on the vaccine doses administered during the first month of the vaccination rollout.

The first report provides demographic data about the people vaccinated during the first month of the COVID-19 vaccination program. Between December 14, 2020 and January 14, 2021, 12,928,749 people in the United States received at least one dose of an authorized vaccination.

The second report provides data on first-dose vaccination coverage among residents and staff members of skilled nursing facilities participating in the Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care Program during the first month of the vaccine rollout. Due to the increased risk for COVID-19-associated morbidity and mortality, residents and staff members in long-term care facilities have been prioritized for the first phase of the vaccination in the United States. Between December 18, 2020 and January 17, 2021, 90.2% of skilled nursing facilities enrolled in the Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care Program conducted at least one on-site vaccination clinic through the program. A median estimated 77.8% of residents were vaccinated, and a median estimated 37.5% of staff members were vaccinated.
