Biden Administration Plans to Purchase 100 Million Additional Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Doses

The Biden administration recently announced its plan to purchase an additional 100 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. Under its current contract with the U.S. government, Johnson & Johnson is obligated to provide 20 million vaccine doses by the end of March. Nevertheless, President Biden plans to use the additional doses to “prepare for unpredictable challenges,” like manufacturing challenges or novel, more contagious variants of the coronavirus. While Johnson & Johnson has already delivered nearly 3.3 million vaccine doses, the additional doses will not reach vaccination centers until the “second half of this year.” Click here to see more details.
