Biden Administration Increases Medicare’s Reimbursement Rates for COVID-19 Vaccine

Andy Slavitt, a senior adviser on the White House's coronavirus response team, announced that Medicare will now provide reimbursement to providers administering COVID-19 vaccines at nearly twice its previous rates, increasing payments from $23 per shot to $40 per shot for COVID-19 vaccines administered on or after March 15, 2021. For two-dose vaccines, Medicare will now pay $80 to providers. Slavitt said that the payment increase will “make it easier for health care providers to get out into communities and give more COVID shots to people in need.” Click here to see more details.
