Description:
This program will review the legal implications of a data breach and review notification laws and key cases. A data breach can have significant implications that compound from the second the breach is discovered if not handled properly. Discussion will include key considerations in building a data breach preparation plan and risk transfer available through contracts and insurance.

Specific topics to be addressed include:

  • Data security breaches causing disclosure of private information and review of recent cases;

  • Costs associated with cyberliability and data security breaches;

  • Response plans for potential cyberliablity and data security exposures; and

  • Recovery of costs for cyberliability and data security exposures by contract or insurance.
