Speakers:
The program will be presented by Michael J. Malone, a partner in the New York office who specializes in securities class action defense;

Drew Hruska, a partner in the New York office who specializes in criminal and regulatory investigations and who served as Chief Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York and Senior Counsel to the U.S. Deputy Attorney General; and

Russ Ryan, a partner in the Washington DC office who specializes in SEC enforcement investigations and who formerly served as Assistant Director of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement.

The presenters are all members of King & Spalding's Government Investigations and Securities Litigation Initiative.

Description:

  • The program will discuss issues raised by the recent expansion of U.S. securities class actions brought against foreign corporations by classes of foreign shareholders who bought their shares on foreign exchanges.

  • The program will also discuss the significant increase in cooperation between the SEC and the Department of Justice on the one hand and foreign agencies engaged in criminal and civil securities law enforcement on the other.
