Roberto Aguirre Luzi is a partner in the international arbitration practice of King & Spalding’s Houston office. Mr. Aguirre Luzi’s practice focuses on international arbitration. The scope of his practice includes counseling multinational corporations on complex arbitration before the World Bank Group’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and UNCITRAL, as well as commercial arbitration under the AAA and ICC rules. He also has extensive experience in administrative law, government contracts, oil and gas contracts, public utilities, and power and infrastructure projects.
Mr. Aguirre Luzi is included in Global Arbitration Review’s 2011 “45 Under 45” as one of the leading figures of the international arbitration bar under the age of 45. Chambers Latin America ranks Roberto Aguirre Luzi individually, recognizing him for his “knowledgeable, highly proactive attitude,” and notes that he is a “high-level bilingual lawyer.” Mr. Aguirre Luzi has also been featured in Who’s Who in International Arbitration.
Mr. Aguirre Luzi co-chairs the American Branch of International Law Association’s Committee on Bilateral Investment Treaties and Development.
Mr. Aguirre Luzi worked for five years as an associate for Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal before joining King & Spalding in 2003. He was born in San Juan, Argentina, speaks Spanish and English, and reads French, Italian and Portuguese.
