William Clarkson is an associate in King & Spalding’s Government Advocacy and Public Policy Practice Group in Washington, D.C. Mr. Clarkson joined King & Spalding in August 2007, after working in the U.S. Senate for 7 years. He provides clients with legislative and regulatory counsel on a variety of issues, including homeland security, health care, international trade and energy. He has extensive experience on matters related to the Service members Civil Relief Act (“SCRA”) and has developed a particular expertise on the Title II and Title III provisions. Mr. Clarkson’s practice also focuses on congressional and federal agency investigations, as well as corporate compliance matters.
As a Legislative Assistant to Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), Mr. Clarkson advised the Senator on transportation appropriations and policy issues, including surface transportation and FAA reauthorization legislation. Mr. Clarkson also handled transportation-related homeland security issues for the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
