Scott Weingaertner specializes in the litigation and trial of patent cases, representing industry leaders in courts across the country.

Over the past two decades Mr. Weingaertner’s experience has spanned a wide array of disputes and technologies.  In recent years, his cases have focused mainly on computer and software technology including smartphone operating systems, browsers and search technology; telecommunications systems; and medical devices.  His clients include leaders in the fields of internet search, telecommunications, medical devices, industrial automation, media, energy, semiconductors and financial services.  In addition to handling contentious matters, he is regularly relied on by leading companies when their most important matters involve intellectual property issues.

Mr. Weingaertner was an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall Law School from 2003 to 2008, where he taught patent law.  He has been a frequently invited lecturer and commentator on patent-related topics, having delivered lectures at New York University’s Stern School of Business, Rockefeller University, the Bar Association of the City of New York, the Practising Law Institute, and a variety of corporate venues.  He is a member of the Conner Inn of Court, is peer rated AV® by Martindale Hubbell and was named a New York Super Lawyer for 2009, 2010 and 2011. Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Weingaertner was an engineer who used his undergraduate studies and graduate research at the MIT Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems in the development of software for robotic vehicle guidance and control technology and for satellite defense system architectures for the Strategic Defense Initiative.
