Sarah Mahood is a senior associate based in the firm's Dubai office.  Ms. Mahood has over four years regional experience and ten years experience working in Central London in the commercial real estate team of a leading City firm.  

Ms. Mahood’s Middle East experience includes advising master developers, developers, tenants, landlords, purchasers and lenders with respect to all aspects of commercial real estate.  Ms. Mahood has particular expertise in advising on complex sale and purchase agreements and all aspects of leasing acting for both landlords and tenants.  Ms. Mahood also has extensive experience of the structuring of complex mixed-use development projects involving strata titling and multiple ownership. 

Ms. Mahood's UK experience includes the sale and acquisition of freehold and leasehold investment properties, acting for developers of numerous city centre redevelopment schemes, portfolio management, investment work, hotels, landlord and tenant work with particular emphasis on corporate occupiers, lease reorganisation for both landlords and tenants, management of out of town shopping centres and industrial estates and acting for banks in respect of the provision of finance (both Islamic and conventional) to major developments in central London.

Middle East

  • Advising Investment Corporation Dubai (ICD) with respect to the title structuring and preparation of the sales, disclosure and governance documentation for the Royal Atlantis Hotel and Residences being a complex mixed-use hotel and branded residences development adjacent to the existing Atlantis Resort and Aquaventure water park. 

  • Advising Meraas Holdings LLC with respect to the title structuring and the preparation of governance and sales documentation for CityWalk and in relation to the acquisition of other landmark developments in the Region.

  • Advising Jumeirah Golf Estates LLC with respect to the title structuring and preparation of the sales, disclosure and governance documentation for Alandalus at Jumeirah Golf Estates being a large multi-phased residential apartment development within the Jumeirah Golf Estates master community. 

  • Acting for Aldar PJSC in relation to the title structuring and development of numerous developments and Master Communities in Abu Dhabi.

  • Advising Al Sharq Investments with respect to the structuring and preparation of the governance, management and sales documentation for the W Hotel and Residences, a large residential and hotel resort development located on the crescent of Palm Jumeirah including advising with respect to the management arrangements with Starwood for the hotel and residences.

  • Advising Al Habtoor in relation to the structuring and sales and disclosure documents for Al Habtoor City mixed-use development.

  • Advising Select Group in relation to the structuring, sales and disclosure documentation for Marina Gate in Dubai Marina.

  • Advising Dubai Real Estate Corporation (DREC/Wasl) in respect of Hyatt Creek Heights Hotel and Residences, Nad Al Hamar master community and the new Al Kifaf Master Community. 

  • Advising TECOM Investments FZ LLC with respect to the preparation of the master community declarations for all of the TECOM master communities.

  • Advising World Trade Centre LLC with respect to the title structuring and preparation of the governance documentation for the World Trade Centre.

  • Advising Tourism Development Investment Corporation (TDIC), the master developer of Saadiyat Island, with respect to the subdivision, management, operation, sale and leasing of a development on Saadiyat Island. 

  • Advising Danube Property Developers on two prominent mixed-use developments on Business Bay.

  • Advising RP Global Developers on two prominent mixed-use developments in Business Bay.

  • Advising Itqan Financial Services on the acquisition on numerous shopping malls in Saudi Arabia. 

  • Advising TwoFour 54 in relation to leasing issues.

  • Advising Xtreme Vision in relation to the structuring and documentation for the new Volante apartment development.

  • Advising Tameer Holding Investment LLC in relation to the structuring and sales and disclosure documents for The Imperial Residences. 

  • Advising Abraaj ASAS Fund on the acquisition of a multi tenanted office building and shopping centres in Cairo

  • Landlord and tenant work acting for both landlords and tenants, drafting and negotiating leases.

Key City Transactions

  • Advised Multi Development UK Limited, the UK subsidiary of the European shopping centre developer, in its acquisition of a half stake in a development site in Bath, which was developed as a new 500,000 square feet shopping centre in joint venture with Morley.

  • Advised on 50,000 square metre mixed-use redevelopment of Wolverhampton Town Centre, including negotiation of numerous strategic acquisitions ahead of the grant of a compulsory purchase order.

  • Acted for the Office of Rail Regulation on their Headquarters relocation and surrender of existing premises.

  • Acting for developer in respect of redevelopment and letting of Riverbank House in Central London, including negotiation of surrender of existing real estate interests in the site.

  • Legal aspects of shopping centre management and planning. 

  • ING portfolio acquisition of numerous industrial estates and buildings throughout the UK.

  • Acting for major hedge fund on lease reorganisation and partial surrender and reconfiguration of headquarters

  • Letting of central London art gallery as well as reviewing owners strategic letting strategy. 

  • Real estate aspects including title certification of the acquisition of landmark iconic central London building for German fund.

  • Real estate aspects of the Cumberland Hotel financing of the Landmark Hotel in Central London.
