Natasha Moffitt is a partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group at King & Spalding. 

Ms. Moffitt’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and counseling, with a particular emphasis on patent litigation.  She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in courts throughout the United States and before the International Trade Commission in suits relating to a wide range of technologies, including complex computer systems and software, web services and Internet-related technologies, computer network security, telecommunications, automated call center technologies, fiber optics, financial systems, medical devices, and lighting systems.  Ms. Moffitt also has litigated cases involving trademark infringement and false advertising claims, copyright infringement claims, and claims relating to trade secret misappropriation and unfair competition.

Ms. Moffitt is registered to practice as a Patent Attorney before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and counsels clients in obtaining U.S. and international patent protection for inventions in the computer and electrical engineering technology fields.  Ms. Moffitt also provides opinions relating to the infringement and validity of patents. 

Ms. Moffitt is an Adjunct Professor at Georgia State University College of Law, where she teaches a summer patent course, and she also serves on the Intellectual Property Advisory Board for Georgia State University College of Law.  Ms. Moffitt has been recognized as a Georgia SuperLawyer Rising Star, and is a member of the Atlanta IP Inn of Court.

Ms. Moffitt received her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law, where she graduated first in her class and summa cum laude.  During law school, she competed on the Mock Trial Team and in the National Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition, where she placed first in the Southeast Regional Competition.  Ms. Moffitt also served as an editorial member of the Georgia State University Law Review.

Ms. Moffitt received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University.  Prior to practicing law, Ms. Moffitt was an Applications Engineer and Systems Engineer for Schlumberger Industries, where she gained extensive experience in the energy and utility industries.

Ms. Moffitt’s civic work extends to her pro bono representation of indigent clients before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and state courts in rural Georgia counties.  Ms. Moffitt also has assisted in the representation of an indigent client before the United States Supreme Court.
