Some of Mr. Raeber’s representative experience includes:

  • Served as trial counsel to large textile company in year-long insurance arbitration against syndicate of 37 insurance companies arising out of catastrophic fire loss, achieving one of the largest insurance arbitration awards in U.S. history.

  • Defended real estate developer in action to set aside multi-million dollar transaction, obtaining successful resolution funded exclusively by title insurer and municipality.

  • Represented national poultry company in insurance coverage claims against five insurance companies arising out of fire loss, obtaining recoveries in excess of $50 million.

  • Defended real estate investment company against fraudulent conveyance claims by former limited partner.

  • Representing Fortune 500 construction company in insurance recovery actions against commercial general liability carriers in Indiana, Kentucky, and South Carolina obtaining over $30 million in reimbursement for claims made by homeowners.

  • Conducted oral argument in U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, obtaining reversal of summary judgment in significant insurance recovery case on behalf of national homebuilder.  Trinity Homes LLC, et al. v. Ohio Casualty Insurance Co., et al. 629 F.3d 653 (7th Cir. 2010).

  • Represented executive in arbitration and litigation brought by former employer, obtaining decision allowing client to assume new position as CEO of Fortune 100 competitor.

  • Served as appellate counsel to Mazda Motor Corporation in obtaining reversal of default judgment, resulting in significant published opinion on trial judge’s duty to manage discovery.  Chudasama v. Mazda Motor Corp., 123 F.3d 1353 (11th Cir. 1997).

  • Served as trial counsel for Big Four accounting firm in month-long accountant liability jury trial in federal court in Mississippi.  Jury allocated 75% of liability to settling defendants and 25% of liability to accounting firm.

  • Served as pro bono habeas counsel to wrongly convicted prisoner, obtaining habeas corpus resulting in release of client after seventeen years of a life sentence.
