Matt Owen is a member of the national appellate practice at King & Spalding. Prior to joining King & Spalding, Mr. Owen served as a law clerk to Justice Antonin Scalia of the Supreme Court of the United States and to Judge Neil M. Gorsuch of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Between his clerkships, Mr. Owen was a Bristow Fellow in the Office of the Solicitor General at the United States Department of Justice. He has participated in many cases before the Supreme Court and the federal courts of appeals and has argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Owen earned his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served on the Michigan Law Review.
