Laura Loeb is Of Counsel in King & Spalding’s FDA & Life Sciences Practice Group in Washington, D.C. Her practice focuses on counseling clients in the areas of complex coding and reimbursement issues. Her clients include academic medical centers, medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, durable medical equipment suppliers, physician and allied health care provider associations, and health care insurance companies. She has spoken and written widely on coding and reimbursement issues concerning coverage, coding, and reimbursement of drugs, devices and physician services, hospital cost reporting issues, graduate medical education funding, as well as on corporate compliance issues.

Ms. Loeb's healthcare legal achievements include obtaining a letter from the HHS General Counsel releasing many academic medical centers from the Physicians At Teaching Hospitals (PATH) audits and obtaining passage of groundbreaking legislation providing Medicare coverage and reimbursement for new breast cancer diagnostic tests.

Following law school, Ms. Loeb worked for a law firm in Tokyo, Japan and was a freelance journalist in the Philippines for Spanish Press International. Upon her return to the United States, she became deputy director of the Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues and later the director of public policy at the Older Women's League where she worked on health care, pension and Social Security issues. Ms. Loeb is a certified public accountant.
