Laura Oleck Hewett is counsel in the Atlanta office of King & Spalding’s Corporate Finance Practice Group. She joined King & Spalding in 1998.

Ms. Hewett regularly advises public company clients on SEC reporting and compliance requirements, including executive compensation disclosure and corporate governance matters.  She serves as a counselor to public company boards of directors in connection with SEC, corporate governance and executive compensation disclosure matters.  She also advises public company clients on NYSE and NASDAQ compliance issues.

Ms. Hewett has significant experience in a broad range of securities matters and corporate finance transactions, including initial and secondary public offerings, “shelf” registrations of securities, private placement transactions, commercial paper programs and Euro medium term note programs.

Ms. Hewett serves on the National Board of Directors of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, and is the past President of the Southeastern Chapter of the organization.  She regularly speaks on the topics of SEC reporting, corporate governance and executive compensation disclosure.

Ms. Hewett previously practiced with Davis, Polk & Wardwell, and spent three years in their London office advising foreign private and public issuers on U.S. capital market transactions.

Ms. Hewett graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in economics. She received her J.D. from the University of Florida (with high honors) in 1992, where she served as a member of the Florida Law Review, and her LL.M. from Cambridge University (Downing College), England.
