Ken Fleuriet is a partner in King & Spalding’s International Arbitration Practice Group. Mr. Fleuriet is based in the firm’s Paris office and regularly works in London.
Mr. Fleuriet has handled over 50 international arbitration matters, as both counsel and arbitrator, including a variety of cases under the rules of arbitral institutions such as the ICC, SCC, as ICSID. He has also handled a number of ad hoc arbitrations under the UNCITRAL rules. Mr. Fleuriet has practiced in the field of international arbitration throughout his legal career, nearly all of which has been spent in Europe.
Mr. Fleuriet previously served in the House of Representatives in the Texas State Legislature, where he represented 115,000 constituents of the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. Mr. Fleuriet was elected at age 21 as the youngest Republican legislator in Texas history. During his tenure, he served as Chairman of the House subcommittee that reviews all proposed legislation relating to lengths of prison sentences in Texas. Mr. Fleuriet also served as a member of the Texas Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Advisory Board, to which he was appointed by Governor William P. Clements in 1989.
Mr. Fleuriet formerly worked as Director of International Marketing for an international telecommunications company, where he supervised the company’s expansion throughout Latin America. He is fluent in Spanish and French and has worked extensively in both languages.
