Dr. Eng is an associate in King & Spalding’s New York Intellectual Property Practice Group.
After obtaining a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Columbia University, Dr. Eng worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Exxon’s Corporate Research Center and at Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies. Later, as a member of the technical staff at Bell Labs, he was in charge of developing a research program in semiconductor surface characterization.
He has worked on numerous patent prosecution matters in the fields of pharmaceuticals, cosmeceuticals, consumer electronics, fuel cells, biofuels, petroleum refining, polymers and automotive parts.
He has assisted in drafting the technical sections to numerous non-infringement, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate opinions. He has also performed due diligence reviews in connection with patent licensing and corporate mergers.
Dr. Eng is an author or co-author of 30 technical papers, including two invited reviews. Dr. Eng has also given more than 25 technical talks throughout the United States and abroad, including five invited lectures.
Dr. Eng was awarded the Fordham University Legal Writing Award for excellence in legal writing in 2004.
