Representative Experience

• Secured a court injunction and a $10.1 million arbitration award on behalf of a national diagnostic imaging company arising out of related proceedings in the Maricopa County, Arizona, Superior Court, the Arizona Court of Appeals, and in an AAA emergency arbitration.
  
  
• Successfully argued two Eleventh Circuit appeals on behalf of a medical device manufacturer against a global medical products distributor, resulting in affirmance of a $7 million jury verdict on behalf of King & Spalding’s client.
  
  
• Defended Quorum Health Resources in federal court litigation that resulted in a summary judgment in favor of Quorum in litigation involving Medicare accounting issues and allegations of misstatement of hospital financials.
  
  
• Represented a publicly-traded healthcare IT company in Delaware Chancery Court in litigation involving development of a Medicaid claims processing system.
  
  
• Represented Piedmont Healthcare in securing a temporary restraining order against Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia in a lawsuit alleging false advertising.
  
  
• Represented SunTrust Banks as lead counsel in federal and state court litigation involving dozens of tax credit real estate partnerships.
  
  
• Represented a national nursing home chain as lead counsel in a series of lawsuits arising out of the management of a long-term acute care hospital and nursing home in the District of Columbia.
  
  
• Served as counsel for nonprofit hospitals in a series of cases in which King & Spalding secured dismissal of putative class actions alleging discriminatory pricing practices.
  
  
• Represented a direct marketing company as lead counsel in California state court litigation arising out of the sale of a San Francisco direct marketing firm.
