People

Austin Evans is a trial lawyer in King & Spalding’s Dallas and Austin offices, and is a member of the Trial and Global Disputes team, where he represents products manufacturers and retailers in high-profile, nation-wide litigation. Austin has experience defending individual and mass-tort cases, on both the state and federal levels, involving diverse claims against international corporations. Austin rejoined the firm in 2021 after spending time in-house at Walmart Inc., where, among other things, he managed and helped develop litigation strategy for significant personal injury cases. During his time in-house, Austin also co-led cross-functional teams, partnered with internal business clients to evaluate and mitigate risk, and helped develop technology to benefit internal and external counsel. Leveraging his experience, Austin has a unique perspective and takes an approach to litigation that is strategic, practical, and results-driven.

Austin has significant trial and litigation management experience defending clients in the retail, consumer products and pharmaceutical/medical device industries. He also has an active tobacco litigation practice, representing R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in individual and mass-action smoking and health lawsuits across the country, and currently serves as counsel for Reynolds in numerous Engle progeny personal injury/wrongful death cases pending in Florida.

Austin is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC), an invitation-only, peer-reviewed membership of corporate defense attorneys and in-house counsel.

In his free time, Austin enjoys mountain biking, dominating on the Peloton, and wrangling his five young kids.
