NEW YORK, June 4, 2026 – King & Spalding announced today that fund finance partners Andrew Bettwy and Jinyoung Joo have joined the firm’s Finance and Restructuring practice group in New York, further strengthening the firm’s commitment to building a premier global fund finance platform.
Bettwy and Joo bring to the firm market-leading experience advising financial institutions, private equity sponsors, private credit funds and portfolio companies on a broad range of financing structures, with particular depth in asset-based lending, NAV and portfolio-level facilities, GP stake financings and other complex financing solutions.
The addition of Bettwy and Joo represents the latest step in a sustained, strategic build-out of the firm’s global fund finance capabilities. In 2024, the firm added a Chambers-ranked Band 1 fund finance team in London led by partner Samantha Hutchinson, which has rapidly established the firm as a leader in the European fund finance market. The firm further expanded its U.S. offering earlier this year with the addition of partner Chris Montgomery in New York. With Bettwy and Joo now on board, King & Spalding has solidified its position as a market leader in fund finance on both sides of the Atlantic.
“This is a practice we have been building deliberately and strategically, and Andy and Jin are a critical part of that effort,” said Todd Holleman, co-leader of the firm’s Finance and Restructuring practice group. “The fund finance market is over $1 trillion and expected to more than double in the next five years. This market is evolving rapidly, with significant growth in NAV lending, portfolio-level facilities and other sophisticated products beyond traditional subscription lines. Andy and Jin are recognized leaders in precisely these areas, and their arrival cements our commitment to this asset class. We will continue to invest in and grow this platform, including outside Europe and the U.S.”
“Andy and Jin’s arrival is a gamechanger for what we can offer clients on a global basis,” said Samantha Hutchinson, a London-based partner who leads the firm’s European fund finance practice. “Since joining King & Spalding in 2024, we have seen firsthand the firm’s commitment to building a world-class fund finance platform. Adding Andy and Jin in New York further strengthens our ability to provide clients with seamless, full-spectrum coverage across the U.S. and Europe – and we are just getting started.”
Bettwy and Joo join King & Spalding from Proskauer Rose LLP, where Bettwy served as co-head of Global Finance and the Corporate & Fund Finance practice group, and previously served as co-chair of the Corporate department. He has been recognized by The Legal 500 United States in multiple categories. Joo is recognized for his work representing borrowers, lenders and private investment funds across a range of financing transactions, including fund finance, acquisition financings and restructurings.
“After seeing what King & Spalding has built in fund finance over the past two years, we knew this was where we wanted to be,” said Bettwy. “The platform here – spanning private credit, private equity, structured finance and a top-ranked London fund finance team – is unmatched, and client demand for the sophisticated, flexible financing solutions we provide has never been greater. We see tremendous opportunity ahead and are excited to be part of what this firm is building.”
King & Spalding’s Finance and Restructuring practice group includes more than 150 lawyers across 11 of the firm’s offices worldwide. The practice serves all of the top 10 U.S. banks, most of the largest global banks, private credit funds managed by some of the largest global asset managers, top private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers.
