King & Spalding Advises Patagonia on $27 Million Hawaiian Solar Fund


New York, NY, October 15, 2014 — King & Spalding advised Patagonia Works, an outdoor apparel company based in Ventura, California, in the company’s $13 million tax equity investment in a fund that will deliver solar energy systems to residential customers in Hawaii. Patagonia joined with local solar finance company Kina’ole Capital Partners, LLC to create a new $27 million fund that will purchase more than 1,000 rooftop solar energy systems in Hawaii, where homeowners currently pay three times the U.S. average price for electricity.
