King & Spalding is committed to providing paralegal training through formal training programs and views training as an essential element in providing efficient and effective service to the lawyers and clients.

There are three components of professional development for Paralegal Services Department members: new employee orientation and training, department specific training, and K&S University.

• New employees receive three days of comprehensive firm training and orientation. Additional training is available on software used by the firm including Access, Excel, Power Point, Concordance, and Summation.
  
  
• The Paralegal Services Department provides in-house training as well as opportunities to attend selective outside seminars. The firm sponsors an annual firm-wide professional development day held in each office. In alternate years, a firm-wide event is held in Atlanta and attended by paralegals from all offices.
  
  
• Through K&S University, the paralegals attend specific practice area training, with some classes offered to all groups, such as writing seminars and ethics classes.
