Kevin Buster is a senior trial partner with King & Spalding in Atlanta. He has over 25 years of courtroom experience in a wide variety of cases including toxic tort, product liability, environmental tort, criminal, antitrust and commercial cases. Over the past 20 years, however, he has concentrated almost exclusively in the defense of toxic tort, product liability and environmental tort cases. He has defended cases in these three areas throughout the country, including in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Washington. These cases have involved a wide variety of chemical substances, including dioxin, PCBs, pesticides, metals, solvents, gasses, odors, petroleum products, food products, pharmaceutical, chemical warfare agents, asbestos, vinyl chloride and others. Representative clients include Dow Chemical Company, Georgia-Pacific Corporation, Hercules, Inc., Honeywell International, Inc., Lincoln Electric Company and other welding rod manufacturers, Texaco, Inc. and Union Carbide Corporation.

Mr. Buster is the head of the Toxic Tort Litigation Practice Group at the firm.

Mr. Buster’s recent representations include:

• National counsel to Union Carbide in its vinyl chloride docket, comprising individual and class actions in numerous state and federal courts throughout the U.S. involving claims of conspiracy and personal injuries arising out of alleged exposure to vinyl chloride.



• Lead Georgia counsel for Lincoln Electric and other welding rod companies in several hundred cases in Georgia involving claims of conspiracy and personal injury arising out of alleged exposure to manganese fumes from welding rods.



• Lead Georgia counsel for Honeywell in its asbestos docket in Georgia.



• Lead counsel for Hercules in numerous cases involving allegations of personal injury or property damage arising out of alleged exposure to toxaphene, a pesticide formerly manufactured by Hercules.
