Michael Petty to Discuss 'Scientific Exchange' At FDLI Advertising & Promotion Conference

WASHINGTON, September 27, 2012 — King & Spalding partner Michael D. Petty is slated to present at the Food and Drug Law Institute’s (FDLI) upcoming Advertising & Promotion Conference. The annual program, which brings together regulated industry and the regulators responsible for overseeing the advertising and promotion of prescription drugs, medical devices, biologics, and animal drugs, will take place October 1-2 in Washington, D.C.

Petty will participate in a breakout session on the conference’s first day titled “Defining Scientific Exchange”. His presentation will cover the use of social media in scientific exchange and how companies make decisions in very grey areas, among other topics.

Petty is a partner in the FDA & life sciences group in King & Spalding’s Washington, D.C., office. He has more than 25 years of experience in FDA regulatory matters from multiple sectors. Prior to joining the firm, Petty served as vice president of development and regulatory law at Amgen Inc., overseeing its regulatory law department and legal support and strategy for biotechnology products, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.
