Sara Kay Wheeler Re-Elected to Health Care Compliance Association Board

MINNEAPOLIS, December 23, 2011 – Sara Kay Wheeler, a partner with King & Spalding, has been re-elected to the board of directors of the Health Care Compliance Association for a three-year term, beginning in May 2012. Wheeler continues to serve as secretary of the executive committee of the board of this 6,500-member organization.

Wheeler, a member of King & Spalding’s healthcare practice, in Atlanta, Ga., has extensive experience in the creation and implementation of corporate compliance programs and investigations, government contractor audits, Medicare regulation, Medicaid regulation, fraud and abuse concerns, internal investigations, voluntary disclosure strategies, clinical research compliance, privacy matters and managed care arrangements. She also is involved in defending healthcare providers investigated by federal and state enforcement entities. Wheeler is a past president of the Georgia Academy of Healthcare Attorneys.

The Health Care Compliance Association was founded in 1996 as a forum for healthcare professionals involved in compliance serving all segments of the health care industry. Its mission is to champion ethical practice and compliance standards and provide the necessary resources for ethics and compliance professionals and others who share these principles by promoting quality compliance programs in health care, providing a forum for interaction and information exchange and creating high-quality educational opportunities for those involved with compliance in the health care industry.
