Firm-wide, over 750 people annually volunteer their time through firm-sponsored activities outside pro bono legal representation, contributing an additional 4,500+ hours of volunteer service to our communities.
Activities include building affordable homes with Habitat for Humanity; classroom reading and career days for inner-city students; food, clothing, book and school supply drives; preparing meals for the homeless; participation in city-wide efforts such as Hands On Atlanta Day and the New York Cares Coat Drive; coaching high school mock trial teams and providing other law-related enrichment activities; in-house blood drives; special projects for senior citizens, veterans and military personnel; numerous walks and races including AIDS and breast cancer awareness walks; and holiday projects benefiting children and families in need.
The firm organized its first firm-wide annual community service day in 2005. On K&S Cares Day, lawyers and staff participate in activities to improve the lives of children, senior citizens, and families in need in each of our communities. Our annual projects have included social events for elderly, disadvantaged and homeless people; repairing and renovating facilities for children and the homes of senior citizens; river clean-ups; and preparing and distributing food to the homeless.
